Non-residents that are living within the European Union, may only obtain a mortgage of up to 60% of the selling price.
For the mortgage application, the bank will normally require the following information:
- NIE number (Numero de Identificación de Extranjeros). Loosely translated, this is your Spanish tax number or Social Security number
- Your last tax return
- Your last three pay slips
- If you are an entrepreneur then it is your last year’s figures, latest income tax return and VAT return that are required.
- BKR registration.
